About the Project
The Town of Oakville retained a consultant team, led by The MBTW Group, to provide master planning, design, and contract administration services for Phase 2 and Phase 3 of a 79-hectare community park located in North Oakville. Building on Phase 1 park construction (consisting of soccer field), MBTW’s scope of work for Phase 2 generally included the addition of the following elements:
• (1) lit natural turf sports field – primarily for soccer use
• (1) lit artificial turf sports field – primarily for soccer use, with lacrosse and field hockey line markings included.
• (1) artificial turf field replacement - primarily for soccer use, with lacrosse and field hockey line markings included.
• (1) natural turf cricket field complete with artificial turf pitch, modified rootzone (infield and outfield), subdrainage and irrigation system.
• Skateboard Park complete with technical area and skate bowl.
• Pump Track
• Family Zone with a Playground and Splash Pad
• Outdoor Fitness Stations
• Dog Off-Leash Area (fenced)
• Fieldhouse / Park Support Building – includes washrooms and changerooms to support park programming.
• Parking Areas
• Site Furnishings including a variety of seating, bicycle infrastructure, waste / recycling receptacles, and shade structures.
• General site landscaping including stormwater management and low impact development initiatives.
Phase 3 parks amenities are largely dedicated to the addition of sports courts, including:
• (2) Basketball Courts (full court)
• (2) 3v3 Basketball Courts
• (4) tennis courts – complete with lighting and acrylic court surfacing
• (10) Pickleball Courts – complete with lighting and acrylic court surfacing
• (4) Sand Volleyball Courts – complete with lighting
• Sports Furnishings including fencing, nets, and equipment.
• Site Furnishings including a variety of seating, bicycle infrastructure, waste / recycling receptacles, and shade structures.
