About the Project

Fountain Street Soccer Complex was envisioned by the City of Cambridge as an opportunity to support individual and community wellbeing objectives outlined in the City’s Strategic Plan.   The MBTW Group was retained by the City to lead a multi-disciplinary design team in the provision of master planning, public and stakeholder engagement, design development and contract administration services for the proposed soccer-centric sports facility. MBTW’s scope of work generally included the following program:

  • (2) premium, natural turf soccer fields – including sports field lighting, scoreboards, subdrainage, and irrigation systems.

  • (2) recreational, natural turf soccer fields

  • (2) artificial turf soccer fields (FIFA Quality certified) – including sports field lighting, scoreboards, spectator seating, players’ benches, and perimeter fencing/ball control netting.

  • (1) artificial turf rugby/soccer field (FIFA Quality and World Rugby certified) - including sports field lighting, scoreboard, spectator seating, players’ shelters, and perimeter fencing/ball control netting.

  • Park Support Building / Fieldhouse – including community room, operations and maintenance area, washrooms, changerooms, and covered outdoor gathering area.

  • Parking Area complete with bioswale feature.

  • Pedestrian trails/pathways/connections.

  • General site landscape, trails, playground, field house /amenity building, maintenance structure, site and sports field lighting, storm water management, LID features, irrigation, and general site landscaping including stormwater management and low impact development initiatives.

Fountain Street Soccer Complex is proud to be the home to Conestoga College’s Varsity Soccer and Rugby teams and supports other recreational activities/programs for their students.
